What we fish for: Walleye, Northern Pike

Amik Outposts is a series of outposts that sit 70-150 by air from Red Lake in Ontario. This is remote fishing at its best and getting here is pretty easy. The lodge has their own float plane base in Red Lake and offers a handful of cabins on lakes around the local area.

Guests have access to Walleye, Northern Pike, and Lake Trout and many opportunities to target Trophy Fish from any of these species.

Fishing with Amik Outposts

The lodge practices catch and release fishing so that the number of trophy fish has greatly improved over the last decade. You can expect the possibility of Northern Pike in the 40" range and big, fat, Walleye in the 25-inch range. The Northern Pike are best targeted in the weedy beds in quiet coves or while trolling. You will need a good spinning rod with 10-20 # test line on it for the bigger Lake Trout and Northern Pike. For the Walleye, be sure to pack a few jig heads and repalas.

Overall, expect outstanding fishing on lakes that are known to produce good fishing.

Lodging with Amik Outposts

Guests are housed in rustic-type cabins that are clean and comfortable. They have solar lighting and offer hot and cold running water for showers and a fully equipped kitchen. All you need to make a meal is the groceries. Each cabin is different but they are clean, comfortable, and provide a good living space while you target big Trophy Fish. Each cabin sits along the shores of lakes that is connected to a river system which makes the fishing her prolific. Expect comfortable cabins in very good spots.
