The Beaver Lodge Fly-In is about 100 miles north of La Ronge by plane. This is a fly-in lodge and was built as a filming base for Jacques Cousteau. Getting here is as easy as flying into La Ronge. Guests come to the Beaver Lodge Fly-In to fish for trophy Northern Pike, and Trophy Lake Trout. The Lake is a natural haven for producing big fish. For fly fishermen, this is a place where your love of fishing will expand.

Fishing with Beaver Lodge Fly-In

The Beaver Lodge Fly-In is a place where big, fat Lake Trout bend fishing poles to the brink of snapping. Then you have those monster Northern Pike. A lot of places say trophy fishing, this place means it. Expect common pike in the 3-4 pound range and with a good day of fishing, you can catch 50-75 in a day. The expectation is 3-4 pike in the 36-inch range and trophy Pike that approach the 47-inch range. The lodge encourages fly fishermen to try their hand at fishing for Northern Pike. Because Northern Pike love to lurk in those thick weed beds, a dry fly, skated across the top is almost irresistible to Pike. That gives fly fishermen a little bit of a head start, especially if you are into the lodge's fishing tournament.

The Lake Trout here are big too. Lake Trout are akin to Silver Salmon when it comes to fighting. The common Lake Trout are plentiful in the 2-5 pound range and there are plenty of Lunkers in the 6-10 pound range. Trophy Lake Trout weigh in the 20-35-pound range. A good day of fishing is 10-20 Lake Trout with the chance to battle the big ones.
