Fishing with Big Sand Lake Lodge
One of the most beautiful fish you will ever catch is the Arctic Grayling. Not only are they pretty, they are feisty and smart. These are smaller fish with a tall dorsal fin. You find them most often in active water, especially around the mouth of a river or inlet. These are perfect fish for fly fishermen or those who prefer spin caster reels. A trophy-sized Arctic Grayling here is in the 8 pound range.
Walleye fishing here is intense. There are stories of fishermen here catching good-sized Walleye nearly every cast. Be wary of catching Walleye because the Trophy Northern Pike like to make a meal of your catch. Walleye like jigs so be sure to throw a few barbless jigs into your tackle box.
The guides can take you where the fish are and that is important. Once you find the sweet spot you can just real in Walleye after Walleye. The big Trophy Northern Pike are sometimes easier to find. They are very predictable. As lurking predators they need to be where the small fish are and that is almost always along the shore in the weedy beds.
If you want trophy fishing adventures in a beautiful location with friendly attentive staff then the Big Sand Lake Lodge is the spot.
