Birch Dale Lodge is located in the Northeast of Ontario on the shores of Eagle Lake. Birch Dale Lodge is located near Waldhof, Ontario. The lodge is a series of cabins and facilities. Cabins range in size and sleep 1-12 guests. The lodge also has an RV and trailer park for those who travel with their home. The rustic log cabins are in good shape and offer a comfortable space from which you can enjoy your fishing adventures. Cabins include kitchens, outside BBQ area and modern bathrooms. For on-site dining, the Bull Pit features an eight-foot charcoal grill with beef, chicken, and lobster available for grilling. There is also a lounge with pool table and an outside deck for relaxing.

Fishing with Birch Dale Lodge

The lodge offers remote fly-out fishing and remote 4x4 access to trophy lakes. This is a year-round camp and in the winter the ice fishing is awesome. Guests of the lodge can target Walleye, Muskie, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Lake Trout, and Perch. This is also the home of the slot size regulations so much of what you catch will likely be catch and release, especially for some of the larger Muskie, Walleye, and Northern Pike.

The Fish of Eagle Lake

The strict adherence to conservation has made Eagle Lake an oasis for fishing. The Muskie here are plentiful and large. In 2011, the largest Muskie caught was 55 inches long and weighed an amazing 50 pounds. It is not uncommon to find Muskie in the 40 plus pound range. The Northern Pike here are large too. Expect to battle 10-25 pound Northern Pike. If you are lucky, you might entice a 40 plus pounder to strike. The Walleye here offer a quality fishing expedition. Expect to find Walleye in the 8-12 pound range and occasionally in the 14-15 pound range. That's huge for Walleye, and many other lodges have lakes that offer only 1-3 pound fish. Not here at Birch Dale Lodge. This size of these fish is no joke, but they are due to the conservation efforts. Such as they are, over the last ten years, conservation has made Eagle Lake an amazing place to fish for trophies, especially Muskies.

Guests also enjoy fishing for Smallmouth Bass, Lake Trout, and Perch. The Lake Trout range in size up to 10 or so pounds and they fight like crazy. The Smallmouth Bass range in size up to five pounds and sometimes 6-7 pounds. The Perch are also plentiful and easy to catch.

Overall, Expect a spectacular fishing expedition from Birch Dale Lodge.
