There are many rivers here and creeks that are teeming with Trout. The Bow River is said to have 2,500 trout per mile of water. Take into consideration that much of the area is catch and release and you begin to see why this is such a Mecca for so many fishers. Beyond the high number of trophy fish is the fact that the area offers something for everyone. The rivers are diverse and different while still offering exceptional habitat that grows large Trout.

The lower Bow River is where many fishers head because of the easier terrain and the easy to catch Trophy Trout. While that is a beautiful area to fish, the area around Banff offers so much more. Head into the uplands and the alpine creeks and lakes and you find trophy fish too. The colder water here makes it easier to target big Lake Trout all of which will happily strike a dry or wet fly. In some of the rivers, you will even have access to Arctic Grayling which are amazing fish to target on a lite fly rod. There are also Cutthroat Trout, Brook Trout, Bull Trout, Brown Trout, and Rainbow Trout. So, while the Bow River is a blue ribbon fishing destination, the entire area around Banff and Calgary offers world-class fishing. That diversity is what makes this place so magical - there is something here for everyone who tosses flies at big Trout.

While the focus is fishing their overall goal is to build a customer base who remain life-long customers and friends. Expect a professional outfitter with guides who have a deep knowledge of the entire area, rivers, and fish. They welcome master-lever fishers and those who are just starting their adventure.
