Camp Narrows Lodge is found in the northwest area of Ontario along the shores of the middle arm of Rainy Lake in the Northwest Bay. Guests access the lodge at La Belle's Birch Point Camp where your hosts will boat you along a seven-mile course to the lodge. La Belle's Birch Point Camp is about 14 miles from Devlin.

Guests are treated to a fully modern lodge with quite a bit of luxe features. Expect a large dining room with amazing views of Rainy Lake. Guests enjoy their down time playing games in the game room, which features pool, foosball, and satellite service for the large-screen TV. Guests can also sit and enjoy any of the numerous board games. For a quieter, relaxing times, enjoy the hot tub, or read a book in front of the fireplace.

Fishing on Rainy Lake

Guests can opt for guided or self-guided fishing expeditions. Guests have access to waters that are home to Northern Pike, Black Crappie, Walleye, and Smallmouth Bass. The largest fish in the lake are the Northern Pike. Northern Pike love the shallow areas where the weeds grow. They feed on smaller fish, rodents, and small mammals that fall into the water. The lodge focuses on catch and releases fishing tactics for Northern Pike. The Black Crappie action here is HOT. Expect to fish for Black Crappie that range in size from 12-19 inches. The key is to find the underwater structures and for that a guide can be beneficial. The Walleye here are quite large due to the smelt. It is not uncommon to find Walleye in the 26-32 inch range though limits are in effect for Walleye. The Smallmouth Bass fishing here is heavenly. May and June are the spawning months for Smallmouth Bass, and the fishing is intense. All summer long you can find the Smallmouth Bass in the shallows though sometimes you find them in the deeper water where they chase the lake smelt.

What to Expect from Camp Narrows Lodge

Most cabin rentals come with a boat, motor and gas. Boats hold two people. You can upgrade to a deluxe boat that is an 18 foot G3. Bring your own fishing gear.

Camp Narrows Lodge also hosts hunters. The local area offers Whitetail Deer Hunting, Black Bear Hunting, Grouse Hunting, and Duck Hunting. This area of Ontario is home to Mallards, Wood ducks, and Teals and as such offers outstanding duck hunting. The Black Bears are fairly numerous too and of good size. The Whitetail deer are at home in the woodlands and meadows.

Overall, expect plenty of fishing opportunity and a good chance at reeling in trophy sized fish.
