  • Access: Fly In Camp

The Costigan Lake Lodge sits some 130 miles to the Northwest, by air, from the town of La Ronge, Saskatchewan, making getting to lodge fairly easy via a floatplane trip out of La Ronge. It also sits about 200 miles South of the border with the Northwest Territories. This is a beautiful and rugged country with tree-lined shores and a lake that offers over 1000 km of shoreline. The draw is big Northern Pike and Lake Trout - Fishing at its best.

Fishing with the Costigan Lake Lodge

The fishing here is intense. You have access to plenty of both Northern Pike and Walleye. The average size for Nothern Pike is 4-8 pounds and for trophies, the weight jumps to 25-35 pounds. Those take a little patience and practice.

The Lake Trout here range to 40 pounds with most being caught in the 2-5 pound range. If you want to Target big Lunkers, you will need to find them. They change their level in the lake based on the water temperature.

The Lodge practices selective catch-and-release fishing, so expect to release the big one.

The Lodge at Costigan Lake

The lodge is a series of eight cabins that stretch along a sandy beach on the edge of Costigan Lake. Each cabin offers running water, a generator for power, and propane appliances along with a full kitchen. Heating is via Wood Stove and along the deck, you will find a BBQ for your use. The bathrooms and showers are centrally located and offer privacy and hot water. The cabins offer basic living conditions and are clean and comfortable. Beds are a mixture of sizes and range from double to twins and pull out units from couches.

Overall, expect decent housing, clean and comfortable cabins and easy access to both your boat and great fishing.
