Cozy Camp
  • Approximate Cost:
    6 - 7 Days: $500 to $750 Per Person
  • Access: Drive In Camp

Cozy Camp sits 20 miles north of Highway 17 and 3.5 hours from the U.S. border. The lodge is easily accessed via paved roads and is located near Ignace on Highway 599.

Guests are housed in lakefront cabins that sleep up to eight people. These are full housekeeping cabins with full kitchens. Bedrooms range in numbers from one to three. Expect comfortable cabins that include a full sitting area, sofa beds, coffee pot with filters and even dish soap. Guests also have the option of driving their RV to Cozy Camp as they have RV space. For those guests who want peace and quiet in a more remote setting have the option of secluded cabins.

Guests should be prepared to bring things like charcoal for the BBQ's, towels, paper towels, and food. Sunscreen and bug spray should be at the top of your list.

Fishing with Cozy Camp

Cozy Camp offers Walleye, Northern Pike, and Smallmouth Bass as the major fishing targets. There is also ample fishing opportunity for Brook Trout, Lake Trout, Splake, and Deep Water Trout Fishing.

Cozy Camp sits along the shores of the English River. Fishing is self-guided. You can bring your own boat. Most cabin rentals come with a 16-foot boat, but there is also access to a 21-foot Pontoon. The English river network is more like a huge lake that is separated by the river. Guests have access to a variety of fishing habitats including deep lakes, small lakes, long river corridors, bays, and more.

Guests should be prepared to bring all of their fishing gear as the lodge does not provide fishing equipment. Guests will also need to bring a fishing license with them as the lodge does not sell nor provide fishing licenses.

In terms of fishing, the English River is home to trophy Walleye, Northern Pike, and plenty of outstanding fishing for Smallmouth Bass. The water system is huge. Guests also have the option of driving to nearby lakes, such as Lake Hakli, which is where you go for Splake.
