Crow Lake Outfitters

The Penassi Outpost Cabin sleeps four and is the only cabin on Penassi Lake. It is a short 20-minute flight from Nestor Falls, and is excellent for Walleye, Northern Pike, and Lake Trout. Guests who stay at Penassi Outpost have access to Picture Narrows Lake as a portage lake. This is an excellent location for small families and couples or just a weekend with the guys.

Loonhaunt Lake is just ten minutes by air from Nestor Falls and holds up to eight people. This is an excellent place for Walleye, Northern PIke, Smallmouth Bass and Largemouth Bass. The cabin offers three-bedrooms, a large sun room, a full kitchen, bed linens, hot water for shower and cooking, and a wood stove for heat. Outside is a BBQ and all of the beds come with linens. There is even a wood-fire sauna. This outpost is ideal for groups, corporate groups, families, or a weekend with the guys.

The two outposts differ in what they offer for fishing adventures. If you love Smallmouth or Largemouth Bass fishing, then Loonhaunt outpost is the place to go. If you love to fish for Lake Trout, then Penassi Lake is the place to go. Both offer good fishing for Walleye and Northern Pike. This is a catch and release lodge and that means big fish for anglers. This is also a year round lodge and makes a good destination for ice fishing. Guests fish from 14-foot and 16-foot aluminum boats that are fitted with a 15 hp Yamaha motor. Each outpost has a good supply of gas so fishing is not limited by fuel concerns.

Because of its close location to International Falls, Crow Lake Outfitters make a perfect weekend getaway or a fishing destination for a three-day weekend. The fishing is good, and the opportunities for trophies is adequate. There are plenty of big Walleye and Big Northern Pike.
