Five Lakes Lodge
  • Approximate Cost:
    6 - 7 Days: $500 to $750 Per Person
  • Access: Drive In Camp

Five Lakes Lodge sits in Northwestern Ontario on the shores of Red Lake. The lodge is north of Ear Falls and West of South Bay near the Woodland Caribou Provincial Park. The Lodge is a short 15-minute drive from the town of Red Lake making this one of the easiest drive-in fishing and hunting lodges in northwestern Ontario.

Guests are houses in modern cabins that feature full kitchens, three piece bathrooms, and thermostat heating. Cabins include all kitchen utensils, linens, blankets and pillows. Expect clean, comfortable and spacious cabins.

Fishing with Five Lakes Lodge

Guests of the lodge have access to Walleye, Northern Pike, Sauger, Perch, Whitefish, and Lake Trout. The lake system is the Gullrock Chain of Lakes. There is a catch and release policy in effect for Walleye over 18 inches and Northern Pike over 35.4 inches. All must be released back into the Lake unharmed.

Guests fish from 16-foot boats that have swivel seats for comfortable fishing all day long. The boats come with 20 or 25 hp engines with an electric starter. Upgrade boats include an 18 foot Misty River and 40 or 50 HP motors are also available.

If you want to explore some of the nearby lakes, the lodge has access to ATV rentals in summer or Snowmobiles in winter.

The fishing here is outstanding. There are large trophy Northern Pike that are over 40 inches in length available. You can find these in most of the lakes if you seek out the weed beds near the shallows. Northern Pike feed on anything that fit in their mouth. The large population of Walleye, Perch, Whitefish, and Lake Trout make a wonderful bounty for these predatory fish. That is why they grow so large. That also means that for fishermen who like to fish for Walleye, these lakes are full of them. A good sign of a good fishing spot is the presence of top line predators like the Northern Pike.
