Gammon River East Outcamp
  • Approximate Cost:
    6 - 7 Days: $1,500 to $2,000 Per Person
  • Access: Fly In Camp

The Gammon River East Outcamp is located in East Manitoba and north of Beresford Lake in the Atikaki Provincial Park. The out camp sits about 300 km northeast of Winnipeg and offers outstanding fishing for big Walleye and Northern Pike. This is a fly-in lodge that sits on an island and offers modern accommodations, along the Gammon River. There is room here for upwards of eight guests and there is only one group on the island at a time.

You will need to bring your own sleeping bag, groceries, towels, and toiletries. There is a strict 2,400-pound weight limit for all guests and luggage.

Fishing with Gammon River East Outcamp

Guests fish from 14 foot Lund Boats that are powered by 15 hp motors. The lodge supplies fuel and life jackets and basic equipment such as nets. Guests need to bring their own fishing gear.

People choose the Gammon River East Outcamp because of the Walleye fishing here. The Walleye are prolific and offer and almost endless day of reeling them into the boat. The other major fishing target here is the Northern Pike. These are good sized fish in the 30 plus inch range. The lake offers a rocky shoreline with plenty of opportunities to change fishing habitat. There are underwater structures which make good targets for Walleye and Northern pike during July. During June, the big fish are closer to shore. During late July, August, and September the big Northern Pike are in the cabbage and weed beds along the sheltered bays. The small fish make their way into the warmer waters and that draws in the big fish.

Overall, This is a remote fly-in fishing location with good fishing and plenty of reasons to come back again.
