Gowganda Lake Lodge

The local area offers a tremendous variety of finish those include rainbow trout, speckled trout, brook trout, lake trout, whitefish, perch, trophy smallmouth bass, walleye, and northern pike. The Lodge offers access to backwater creeks and back lakes where you can find tremendous opportunity for trophy fishing. The Lodge offers boat rentals, in guests have a choice between a 14 foot sea Nymph or a 16 foot Lund. Gowganda Lake stretches out for 6 miles offering 35 miles of scenic shoreline, quiet inlets, and plenty of opportunity for fishing. Obushkong Lake is separated from Gowganda lake by a waterfall. However, the Lodge has boats moored on Obushkong Lake. So to experience fishing here you simply have to moore your boat and walk the short distance to the moored boats on Obushkong Lake. Elkhorn Lake is a smallmouth bass fishing paradise the lake runs for about 3 miles in length and 1 mile in diameter and offers fantastic vistas for fishing trophy sized smallmouth bass. Wapus River and Penassi Lake offers outstanding walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass, and perch fishing. This area is wildlife is rich, and guest often are greeted by waterfowl, Black bear, small water animals such as beaver. If you are eager to catch northern pike, then this is an excellent place there are plenty of weedy patches found along the river and in the lake. There are plenty of lakes and rivers to explore in this area of northern Ontario.

The local area and the surrounding waterways allow easy access to remote areas for perfect hunting trips. Targets include black bear, moose, waterfowl, and other small game. Outdoor recreation includes ATV and snowmobile. The Lodge recommends bringing your own ATV or snowmobile.
