  • Approximate Cost:
    4 - 5 Days: $1,000 to $1,500 Per Person
  • Access: Fly In Camp

The Grey Owl Camp Fly-In sits just 100 miles to the north of La Ronge and offers outstanding fishing for big Northern Pike and fat Lake Trout. The camp sits on an island that is located on One-Man Lake. The camp is small and holds only ten people at one time, give all guests ample opportunity to fish for trophy Pike or Lake Trout. Don't let the word "camp" fool you, guests stay in a series of cabins with full kitchens. Bathing is via a communal shower house so while it is rustic, it is very comfortable.

Fishing with Gray Owl Camp

Guests of the Grey Owl Camp have the option of fly-out fishing. This is a catch and release lodge and there are plenty of big fish here for you to target. The One-Man Lake is a great place for big Trophy Northern Pike and big, fat Lake Trout. A short walk leads you to Asiski Lake, which is a portage lake and holds a 14-foot boat. This is another haven for big Lake Trout and Big Northern Pike.

When they say big they mean big. Expect to find Trophy fish between 38-38 inches in length. The best time to target Lake Trout is in late spring and early summer before the water temperature gets too warm. After the winter weather breaks the Lake Trout are in the shallower water taking advantage of its warmth. By Late June, they are headed for deeper water. The best time to target big Trophy Northern Pike is June when most of the smaller fish are near shore, and again in August and September when they start to feed like crazy for the cold winter months.

Overall, expect outstanding fishing and a comfortable place to stay.
