Hidden Bay Lodge is just a six-hour drive from Green Bay, Wisconsin or 3.5 hours from International Falls. The lodge is located eight miles South of Sioux Lookout in the wild Ontario Wilderness. The lodge includes a main lodge and seven remote outposts. You will find the main lodge and their seaplane base on the shores of Abram Lake. Your main lodging will be in one of the remote outposts.

Lodging with Hidden Bay Lodge

The main lodge has four comfortable cabins that house guests on their first day. The cabins are comfortable and modern. In the morning, after breakfast, you are flown to your cabin where you can enjoy the splendor of the wilderness and all of the outstanding fishing you can take. They offer an all-inclusive package that includes groceries. Each cabin is warm and comfortable and fairly modern.

Fishing with Hidden Bay Lodge

There are six lakes that offer wonderful fishing. Each cabin sits on the shores of one lake. What this means for fishermen is that you have the lake pretty much to yourself. For those of you who love Walleye fishing, you just found heaven. Most Walleye here weight 1-4 pounds with opportunities for trophy fish. This is a catch and release area so all Walleye between 18-23 inches are released. You may keep one Walleye that is over 23 inches. This means big fish. In terms of eating, the big Walleye are not as tasty (by rule) as the smaller fish.

This is also Northern Pike Territory and that means explosive action and excitement. You find the Northern Pike, typically in warmer water. They like the shallows where the river weeds grow. As lurking predators, Pike are immediately attracted by movement in the water. For big Pike think big lures. A good sized frog lure or a large minnow lure with some action are good bets for Northern Pike. In the weed beds, think top floating lures or flies such as the mouse pattern.

This is also outstanding water for Lake Trout which like to hang out around rocky points. Lake Trout can be a spooky lot so make sure that as you approach a rocky point that you are quiet. Most people fish for Lake Trout by trolling in an S-shape pattern. Lake Trout can be big — in the 10-20 pound range.

Overall, expect outstanding accommodations, and active fishing.
