The Island 10 Fishing Retreat is near Mowat's Landing, Ontario. It is about 5.5 hours drive from Toronto and located off of Highway 558 where Mowat's Landing Road meets the Montreal River. The Lodge picks you up there at Mowat's Landing ad transports you to the lodge on Lady Evelyn Lake. This is a remote fishing adventure and the lake is highly productive due to the fact that not many people venture this far. For guests, that means there is ample opportunity for high-quality fishing.

Lodging with the Island 10 Fishing Retreat

The lodge serves as a central meeting point and for dining. Meals are served family style and are all you can eat. Meals are prepared by professionals who can accommodate special diets. The guests stay in one of the out cabins that sit on the lakes shore. Expect to find hot and cold running water, modern bathrooms, electricity from generators, refrigerators, Wood stoves for heat, and Kerosene lamps for lights. The beds are clean and comfortable and each cabin is serviced by maids. Guest enjoy the balconies on some cabins.

Fishing with Island 10 fishing Retreat

This is an active lake for Walleye, Northern Pike, and Smallmouth Bass. Because the lake is remote, the fish population is not stressed so fish here grow big. Expect to find big Walleye, big Northern Pike, and plenty of feisty Smallmouth Bass. The lodge suggests bringing two rods. A light-medium rod in the 5-6 foot length with 8-10 pound line for Walleye fishing. A 6-7 foot rod with 10-12 pound line for Northern Pike. Northern Pike have over 700 teeth in their mouth and they chomp right through the regular fishing line. For that reason, you will need 12-inch steel leaders to battle Northern Pike. A good lure to keep in your fishing tackle box is Rapalla Daredevils. Also, popular for Pike fishing are the White Weedless lures in green/white or Red/white. The Walleye are fond of #2 or #3 Mepps Spinner usually loaded with a worm. You can also use a 1/4 ounce Yellow Jig loaded with a worm or even a minnow. Guests fish from 16 foot Lund Stalker or Fury boats.

The lodge has a small restock store for lures and small equipment. Overall, expect to find a clean and comfortable lodge with outstanding fishing.
