Island 10 Fishing Retreat

    6 - 7 Days: $1,000 to $1,500 Per Person
    4 - 5 Days: $1,000 to $1,500 Per Person
  • Access: Boat In Camp

The Island 10 Fishing Retreat is near Mowat's Landing, Ontario. It is about 5.5 hours drive from Toronto and located off of Highway 558 where Mowat's Landing Road meets the Montreal River. The Lodge picks you up there at Mowat's Landing ad transports you to the lodge on Lady Evelyn Lake. This is a remote fishing adventure and the lake is highly productive due to the fact that not many people venture this far. For guests, that means there is ample opportunity for high-quality fishing.

Lodging with the Island 10 Fishing Retreat

The lodge serves as a central meeting point and for dining. Meals are served family style and are all you can eat. Meals are prepared by professionals who can accommodate special diets. The guests stay in one of the out cabins that sit on the lakes shore. Expect to find hot and cold running water, modern bathrooms, electricity from generators, refrigerators, Wood stoves for heat, and Kerosene lamps for lights. The beds are clean and comfortable and each cabin is serviced by maids. Guest enjoy the balconies on some cabins.

Fishing with Island 10 fishing Retreat

This is an active lake for Walleye, Northern Pike, and Smallmouth Bass. Because the lake is remote, the fish population is not stressed so fish here grow big. Expect to find big Walleye, big Northern Pike, and plenty of feisty Smallmouth Bass. The lodge suggests bringing two rods. A light-medium rod in the 5-6 foot length with 8-10 pound line for Walleye fishing. A 6-7 foot rod with 10-12 pound line for Northern Pike. Northern Pike have over 700 teeth in their mouth and they chomp right through the regular fishing line. For that reason, you will need 12-inch steel leaders to battle Northern Pike. A good lure to keep in your fishing tackle box is Rapalla Daredevils. Also, popular for Pike fishing are the White Weedless lures in green/white or Red/white. The Walleye are fond of #2 or #3 Mepps Spinner usually loaded with a worm. You can also use a 1/4 ounce Yellow Jig loaded with a worm or even a minnow. Guests fish from 16 foot Lund Stalker or Fury boats.

The lodge has a small restock store for lures and small equipment. Overall, expect to find a clean and comfortable lodge with outstanding fishing.

  • Island 10 is a fishing paradise. Not only is there great fishing, but the food, service and lodgings are excellent. I?ve been coming for 3 years and back for 2023. Andrea and Jason plus their staff go out of their way to make sure your stay is the best vacation you?ve ever had. Fall of 22, I caught a 22? Smallmouth Bass - what an experience. Haven?t stopped talking about that or Island 10 since. Boat safety, personal safety and conservation are their priority. That?s why I go to Island 10! Maureen Ault

  • What an experience at Island 10! We stayed for 5 nights and were completely spoiled. The fishing was incredible. The hospitality was amazing. The food was delicious. Andrea and Jason operate a very friendly fishing retreat that caters to all the guests needs! The cabins were super clean and the staff looked after all our special requests. It was our first time and we will definitely be repeat guests (as most are). I would highly recommend Island 10 for experienced and novice fishermen/women. The staff prepare the boats for you and look after every minor detail. The shore lunches are a great experience.

  • Island 10 Fishing Retreat on Lady Evelyn Lake is a great place for a relaxing vacation in the great outdoors. My family has visited this island and lake, off and on, since the late 1960's. The modern log cabins are well kept. The staff do their best to accommodate every one and we have always been well treated. The meals are excellent including the packed cold lunches. Also, you will be on an island with generator power. The power is on during the day, but is shut down around 11pm each night for quiet restful sleeping. Power is back on around 6am. And then . . . there is the wonderful scenery and the fishing! We participate in the camp's catch and release program. I look forward to visiting the island every year that I am able! Thank you, Andrea and Jason, and the Island 10 staff!
