Jug Bay Sport Fishing sits along the shores of Lake Athabasca and right on the borders of Alberta and Saskatchewan. This is a fly-in fishing lodge and the easiest way to get here is from Fort McMurray with McMurray Aviation. It takes just a 1.5 hour flight from Fort McMurray to reach the Jug Bay Sport Fishing. The lodge offers plenty of comforts and opportunities to fish for BIG fish such as Record Setting Lake Trout and Trophy Northern Pike.

The Lodge is rustic and the accommodations are comfortable with bunk beds and wood stove heat, hot showers. There are outdoor facilities and outhouses. Meals are home cooked and served in the main lodge where you can also find a game room.

Fishing with Jug Bay Sport Fishing

The fishing here is good. Expect to have access to big Trophy Lake Trout, Big Trophy Northern Pike, Walleye, and the beautiful Arctic Grayling.

Guests fish from 19 foot outfitted boats and have access to down riggers, trolling gear, rod/reels, and nets. If you want to fly fish, you will need to bring your own fly rod and gear. The Arctic Grayling are perfect for fly rods as are the big Monster Northern Pike.

Fishing here is guided and the guides have plenty of experience fishing these waters. There are 15 species of sports fish on the lake and the guides will put you help you target whatever fish you choose for the day.

Overall, the lodge is well worth the trip and there is plenty of really good fishing. This is the lake and the lodge that landed the 53 pound Lake Trout just last summer (2016) and there have been plenty of big, Fat Lunkers that were caught over the 30 pound mark.
