Kenauk Nature is just northeast of Montebello and easily accessible from Highway 50. The lodge is a short 1.5 hours from Ottawa and Montreal. This is a 65,000 acre or 100 square mile preserve which guests can fish and hunt. The lodge offers a vast array of activities from Clay Shooting and Land Rover Tours to Ice Fishing and Lake Fishing.
Fishing with Kenauk Nature
Guests of the lodge have access to many types of fish from Speckled Trout, Lake Trout, and Northern Pike, to Rainbow Trout, Smallmouth Bass, and Largemouth Bass.
The season runs from mid-May all the way through the middle of November. There are over 60 lakes here, some of which are stocked with fish and others are 100 percent natural. Because this is a preserve, and there is a biologist on staff the lakes are healthy and underfished. This means that you have ample opportunity to encounter big Trophy fish, including big Trout and Northern Pike.
Also, it is important to note that because each cabin sits on its own lake, the cabin you select is important. Not all lakes have all species of fish and some may have only one species. Pick your cabin wisely so that you can target the types of fish you want.

Lodging with Kenauk Nature
The lodge offers 16 cabins all at the luxury level. The cabins are spread out and each sits along the shores of its own private lake or along the banks of its own river. Expect propane lights and electricity via solar power. There is a full kitchen with everything there you'd need to make a meal. Each cabin has indoor plumbing with hot water for showers. Also, there is your own private dock with a variety of boats including Kayaks, canoes, and rowboats. You can choose from their Heritage, Classic, or Deluxe series of cabins.
Overall, expect luxury accommodations in an off-grid setting. The cabins have a cell phone booster but it is not a service to rely on.
