Fishing with Kipawa Outpost

Northern Pike here range to 15 pounds. It is possible to catch larger and most are in the 15-inch range. You will find Northern Pike along the edges of the lake in quiet bays where the weeds grow. These are big lurking predators who wait for a meal to swim past. You can entice them strike with minnow lures and spoons, but be sure to use a weed-guard. A dry fly is also a perfect temptation, especially those of the small rodent or mammal variety.

The Lake Trout here are in the 15-20 inch range and run about 10 pounds. You will find them all over the lake depending on the temperature. The hotter days, they head to deeper water. The colder mornings you might find them closer to shore.

The Walleye here are in the 13-20 inch range and are usually under 3 pounds.

Overall, expect a lot of fishing action and many opportunities to reel in fish after fish.
