March Bay Resort is a family and group friendly resort in Northern Ontario about 20 minutes from Temagami and an easy 4-5 hour drive from Toronto. The resort sits on the banks of the Montreal River making this an easy place to enjoy a fishing vacation

March Bay Resort offers cabins and trailer space for those who want to trailer camp. Either way, expect a clean and comfortable resort. The main lodge offers communal space with Wi-Fi and satellite TV. There are a library and plenty of board games in their rec room. There is even a paid laundry service and a well-stocked gift shop too. Cabins are non-smoking, and some are pet-friendly. Cottages come with a full kitchen and everything you'd need to make a meal, even the kitchen linens. Expect hot and cold water and a three piece bathroom. There are picnic facilities outside each cabin including a BBQ. Guests are encouraged to bring their own sheet but these can be provided (sheets) for a fee, and the resort provides pillows and comforters. There are seven cottages, 31 spots for RV's and two camping sites.

Fishing with Marsh Bay Resort

Guests can fish for Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass and Perch along the river. The Montreal River ranges in depth from 5 feet or so depending on the snow melt. The fill lakes range to 70 feet and offer a long list of structures where fish congregate.

Guests are welcome to bring their own boats, or the Lodge can provide one with advanced notice. Boats are rented on a daily basis or by the week.

The fishing here is good. There are occasional trophy-sized fish caught in the Montreal River. There is an honor conservation program where guests are encouraged to release the trophy fish so that the stock of big fish remains good. There are plenty of regular-sized fish for keeping, especially Walleye and Northern Pike.

Overall, expect a well-run and organized resort that focuses on good times and fishing.
