The Marten River Lodge is located near Temagami, in Martin River in the northeastern Ontario. The lodge offers lake fishing and fly-out fishing trips for Northern Pike, Walleye, Lake Trout, Smallmouth Bass, Perch, and Pan Fish.

Guests are housed in one of nine cabins. Cabins feature full kitchens, three or four piece bathrooms, 24-hour electricity, hot and cold running water, and a large screened porch.

Fishing with Marten River Lodge

Fishing is guided or unguided. Guides offer a tremendous advantage to fishing here. They know the local waterway and the fish that inhabit them. If you have a special fish that you want to target, then a guide will help you find that species of fish, set up your pole, and show you how to fish for them.

The Lodge offers a couple of Lake choices including Wicksteed Lake, which has Walleye, Smallmouth Bass, and Northern Pike. If you fish with a guide, they will prepare you a shore lunch from the fish that you catch. It does not get much fresher than that.

Largo Lake offers excellent Walleye, Smallmouth Bass, and Northern Pike fishing. This remote lake is accessed by 4x4 truck and an Argo ATV. This lake is catch and release.

Chico Lake is prime Smallmouth Bass fishing. This is a small lake with plenty of 1-6 pound fish. The lake is not often fished as it very remote.

Hangstone Lake offers Walleye, Smallmouth Bass, and Northern Pike. Access if by 4x4 and UTV. This is a good like for plenty of Walleye action. The Northern Pike ranges from 20 inches and above.

Smart Lake is home to Smallmouth Bass and Northern Pike. It is very common to fight Smallmouth Bass in the 2-6 pound range. Access is by 4x4 and UTV. This is a great lake to spend a day reeling in Smallmouth Bass.

Overall, expect a remote fishing adventure. Many of the lakes are guided, but the home base lake is perfect for those who just want to relax and fish. There is plenty of good sized fish right out your front door.
