The Minor Bay Lodge is about 435 miles from Saskatoon and sits on the southwestern side of the Wollaston Lake. The lodge is a beautiful log structure with a full dining area, lounge, and a screened verandah that offers stunning views of the lake. There are seven private, fully-modern guest cabins that range from two-person cabins to eight person lake front cabins. All offer modern conveniences such as full living room, bedrooms, full bathrooms, electric heat, comfortable double beds, and more. In addition to the quality cabins, beautiful lodge, and all of the comforts, guests choose the Minor bay Lodge for the fishing.

Fishing with Minor Bay Lodge

Wollaston Lake is a haven for trophy Northern Pike. The nickname of the lodge is "Home of the Monster Pike". In addition to the big Northern Pike, guests have the opportunity to angle for big, fat Lakers, walleye and Arctic grayling. Minor Bay guests can opt for a fly-out adventure to one of the more remote locations for a full day of fishing. For fly fishermen, the Northern Pike and Arctic Grayling fishing are perfect. For Spin casters you can target Northern Pike, Grayling, walleye and Lake Trout too.

The best time for Lake Trout fishing is late spring. Lake Trout have a very narrow band of water temperature that they enjoy. Therefore, they move to the shallows during the colder part of the year and to the deeper parts during the hottest parts of summer. May/June you find them in about 10 feet of water. July/August they are deep in the lake. For Northern Pike, June you find them in the open water in shallow bays, and by August they are in the weed beds.

Overall, you cannot beat fishing here. This is a lodge that you will revisit again and again.
