Fishing with North Caribou Lake Outposts

Guests fish from 16-foot Lund boats with comfortable swivel seats and 25 HP motors. North Caribou Lake is 81,000 acres and stretches for 25 miles in length and 15 miles in width and offers a natural haven for fish. For fishermen, that means big fish. Expect Northern Pike in the 40 plus inch range. Expect Walleye in the 5-10 pound plus range.

One of the best features of the lake is that it offers a vast variety of fishing habitats. Because there are so many little islands, anglers have plenty of opportunities to fish in uninterrupted space. Add to this mix the many sheltered bays and you begin to see why North Caribou Lake is such a hot spot for trophy fishing. There is a lot of food present in the lake which translates to big Walleye and Northern Pike in large numbers for fishermen. Where many lakes have a few trophy fish, the size, and formation of North Caribou Lake creates a spot where many trophy fish thrive. If you want to target big Northern Pike, consider tossing a few Johnson Silver Minnow spoons along with a few Rapala Crank Baits or Husky Jerk lures into your tackle box. For Walleye, 1/8 or 3/8 jigs work well especially if you add the Berkley Power bait. For spinners, Panther Martin, Rooster Tail, Marabou, and imitation minnows are hot.

The trophy fish here are catch and release only. Not only does that ensure that the fishing remains good, it respects the fish too.
