Oak Lake Lodge

The fishing here is by catch and release. Fishing species include Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, and Northern Pike. If you are willing to put in the time, there are Muskies available too. The lodge is the only fishing lodge on the lake and as such, the fishing is good. With the catch and release policy, anglers have plenty of opportunities to battle trophy fish.


This is a guided fishing lodge and the guides make the difference. Expect experienced and patient guides who know the local waters and can help turn your fishing trip into the fishing trip of your lifetime. Guests fish from 16-foot Lund Rebel boats, with 30 hp motors. The boats feature pedestal seats, live wells, and brand new motors each year. The lodge provides life jackets and gasoline along with coolers for snacks. Live bait is available for a surcharge. The lodge also sells fishing licenses. While the lodge offers an all-inclusive package, the cost of guides are not included. Be sure to also pack all of your fishing equipment, vest, and rain gear too. This is Northwestern Ontario so bug repellent is highly recommended.

In addition to the outstanding fishing, Oak Lake Lodge is a destination for bow hunters. Hunters can target black bear or moose. Hunting here is with a guide. The local area is beauty and because this is part of the West English River Provincial Park, the wildlife viewing is optimal.


Overall, you should expect well maintained cabins, excellent fishing, and a beautiful location.
