Lodging with Pickerel Lake Outfitters

Each outpost cabin sits on a secluded lake that is accessible by float plane. The cabins are set up to offer deluxe accommodations. The fly out point is from the Pickerel Lake Outfitters base in Kenora. Each cabin offers different sleeping options for a number of guests. Also, each lake is different so if you have a special fish that you like to target, keep that in mind when booking your reservation. Cabins feature hot and cold running water, living rooms, kitchens with full-sized stove and refrigerator. The porches are screened so you can enjoy the beautiful views of the lake without intrusion by mosquitoes. A wood stove provides heat. There is a BBQ and fish cooker on each porch. Walleye is most delicious when deep fried.

Expect clean and comfortable accommodations

Fishing With Pickerel Lake Outfitters

The set up for fishing is for the DIY fishermen. There are six lakes from which to choose and each is different.

Norse Lake Outpost is good for Walleye, Northern Pike, and Smallmouth Bass. Because this lake is a dark-water lake, the best time to fish for Walleye is early in the morning and in the evening. From mid-morning through mid-afternoon target the Smallmouth Bass or Northern Pike.

Treelined Lake Outpost is a haven for trophy Smallmouth Bass and Northern Pike. This is a trophy lake so expect big Pike and Big fat Bass.

Brown Bear Lake Outpost is an all around location for fishing. Expect Trophy Smallmouth Bass, Large Northern Pike, Fat Lunkers, and Big Walleye.

Gordie Lake Outpost offers excellent Walleye and Northern Pike fishing and a perfect place for those who like the fast action of fishing Northern Pike. This is a dark water lake so Walleye fishing is best in the morning and evenings, but the Northern Pike are hot all day long.

Populus Lake Outpost offers Lake Trout, Walleye and Northern Pike fishing. This is a big lake and it pays to explore the many channels, especially for Lunkers and Walleye.

Unexpected Lake Outpost offers Muskie, Northern Pike, and Smallmouth Bass fishing. If you are into Muskie fishing, this is a great place to do that.
