  • Access: Drive In Camp

Pine Sunset Lodge sits along the shores of Dinorwic Lake, nearly equal distance between Vermilion Bay and Ignace. The lodge is an easy 3.25-hour drive from International Falls and offers a prime family vacation destination that includes fishing for Walleye, Smallmouth Bass, and Lake Trout. This is also a base camp for hunters too.

Guests sleep in a series of cabins that offer beautiful lake views. The lodge does not provide linen, so make sure to bring a sleeping bag or bedding. There are pillows, comforters, and fitted sheets. The bunkhouse is large and sleeps up to 14 people. It features two bathrooms and 14 beds ( seven upper and seven lower bunk beds.) The bunkhouse also has a full kitchen, large living room with TV, and is heated by a wood stove. Most of the other cabins sleep 4-8 people while some offer options for as many as 10 guests. All of the cabins are clean, comfortable and secure.

Fishing with Pine Sunset Lodge

Dinorwic Lake is home to Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Lake Trout, Perch, Crappie, and the monstrous Muskie. The lake itself offers 18,000 prime acres of fishing habitat. Expect to find a diversity of fishing habitats such as small islands, back bays, and rocky points. Along the shore are weedy shelves that often hold the larger Muskie, Northern Pike, and bigger Walleye. The rocky points make good spots for trophy Smallmouth Bass. Because Dinorwic Lake is shallower the water warms as soon as the ice is clear. This means that the Muskie, Northern Pike and Walleye have a long and prosperous growing season. For fishermen, that means big, trophy fish.

Wabigoon River is a feeder river for Dinorwic Lake. That gives fishermen another option for fishing and it helps to support the Walleye and top predator fish in the lake.

Overall, this is a prime fishing location for trophy fish. You can also spend all day playing catch and release with the huge population of Crappie and Perch.
