Red Pine Lodge & Outpost sits along the shores of Abram Lake, which is just four miles south of Sioux Lookout. This is an awesome lodge for Walleye and Northern Pike fishing. The lodge offers five cabins that are among the 100-year-old red pines and along the shores of Abram Lake.

The cabins offer two or three bedrooms with a single or two bathrooms. The cabins come with fully equipped kitchens and on the deck you have BBQs and fish cookers. Guests are expected to bring their own towels. There are TV and Wi-Fi available.

The Outposts

The outposts consist of Gull Lake, Christina Lake, and Zionz Lake. These lakes are accessible only by float plane, and the pilot is an expert pilot with over 15,000 air hours booked. These outposts are remote, and that means un-fished lakes with plenty of beautifully large fish. Each of the camps receives an air service run every 2-3 days where things like ice are brought in for your use.

Fishing with Red Pine Lodge & Outposts

The prime location of Red Pine Lodge & Outposts gives guests an almost immediate access to other lakes such as Minnitanki Lake, Pelican Lake and Botsford Lake — all just a few minutes boat ride away. You can also fish Lac Seul, which is accessible by boat when the water levels are within the normal range. The vast waterways offer fishing right from the lodge, or you can head over to Frog Rapids, which is about half a mile away. There is so much water here that you can also take an epic adventure and fish 20-30 miles away from the lodge.

Guests of the lodge fish from 17 foot Lund boats that have 50 HP engines. The boats feature flat flooring and seat up to four people. If you prefer, the Lodge offers fishing guides. With a the large number of lakes and the amount of water that you have access too, a guide makes a lot of sense. They know where the good fishing is and that saves you the time of guessing where to drop your line.

The local lakes are home to a good population of Walleye and Northern Pike. There are also Smallmouth Bass, white fish, Lake Trout, and Muskie. Muskie are huge, usually bigger than Northern Pike. They also take patience and determination to catch one. They are called the "Fish of 10,000 Casts, and that title is fairly accurate. However, hooking one changes your life. If you want to battle a 50 plus found fish, then spend a day or two trying for Muskie.
