Tate Island Lodge sits along the shores of Reindeer Lake, in Northeastern Saskatchewan. Surrounded by wilderness and near the border of Manitoba, the lodge offers easy access to remote fishing. Getting here is fairly easy. Guests fly into Winnipeg and then to Lynn Lake, where they take a pond hopper to the lodge. Guests can fly their own aircraft to Lynn Lake for safe storage and then take the float plane to the lodge. Guests come to Tate Island Lodge to fish for big Northern Pike. The big 40 plus pound Pike are here.

Fishing with Tate Island Lodge

The lodge is a friendly place with personable staff and plenty of good food, comfortable cabins, and big fish. Guests fish from 18-foot Deluxe Alumarine boats with flat floors, padded seats, and 40-hp motors. When the lodge offers you trophy fishing, they mean it. There Northern Pike here that are 50 plus inches in length. There are Lake Trout here in the 40 plus pound range. In addition, the Walleye are plentiful and you spend the whole day casting and reeling in medium Walleye. Plus, if you like a smart fish, then the Arctic Grayling fishing here is going to blow your mind. For fly fishermen, an 8-9 pound pole and Pike Grade rigging will setup with something that is akin to battling a King Salmon in size and a Silver Salmon in tenacity. All you have to do is float a dry mouse fly over a weed bed and Boom- it's game on. A little word of caution when you fish for big Northern Pike. Their strike is hard and fast and if you are not paying attention they can rip the rod from your hand. When they say big fish here, they mean it.
