Timber Wolf Lodge sits on the shores of Winkle Lake, near the U.S - Canadian border near International Falls in the Northwestern part of Ontario. This is the only lodge in the vicinity of this vast stretch of wilderness. Guests are lodged in one- and two-bedroom cabins. Cabins feature propane rather than electricity. Each cabin is fitted with two single-sized beds, and the living area offers a sofa bed. The screened porch offers views of the local area and is equipped with a propane stove, refrigerator, and BBQ. Fishing with Timber Wolf Lodge

Winkle Lake is home to some amazing Smallmouth Bass fishing. The lake also hosts Northern Pike and Lake Trout. The local area offers many lakes suitable for fishing. A short trip puts you on waters that offer some of the best Walleye fishing around. The local lakes offer Crappie, Walleye, Northern Pike, Lake Trout, and Smallmouth Bass.

Fishing at Timber Wolf Lodge is a year round adventure. The spring, summer, and fall offer wonderful river and lake fishing while the winter becomes the prime ice fishing season.If you have not had an opportunity to fish for Northern Pike, you should do so. These are long, lean, predatory fish that can be tempted to strike at a lure, dry flies, or wet flies. You find them in the weedy areas of lakes. They are aggressive fighters too but be warned. Their mouth contains over 700 teeth, and they make short work of regular fishing line. Fish for them with a metal leader.

The local lakes are perfect for spin-cast fishing or fly fishing. The lodge offers guided fishing. They also have canoes if you want to try your hand at fishing from a canoe.

Timber Wolf Lodge's Other Activities

The lodge offers guided hunting trips. Deer hunters, Bear Hunters, and Bow Hunters for Moose are all welcome at the lodge. Also to the larger game, this area of Northwestern Ontario is prime for Grouse Hunting.

The lodge offers boat and boat motor rentals along with canoes. For those who like the rugged wilderness, there are campgrounds on the property. For relaxation, guests have access to the lodge's sauna. For fishermen, there is a fish cleaning house and deep freeze. Fish cleaning services are available too.

Overall, expect to find an ideal fishing location with options to chase trophy fish on outlying lakes. The lodge is perfect for families, groups, and even pairs of fishermen or hunters.
