Trout Tracker Guide Company is a professional guided fly fishing company that is based out of the Calgary, Alberta area. This is the Bow River territory and one of the best blue ribbon rivers for fly fishing for Trophy Trout.

This is a perfect outfit for those who know how to fish and for those who have never fished.

The Bow River

The Bow River is world-renown for fly fishing. This is a natural habitat where nature comes together to produce one of the best trout fisheries in the world. The geography is unbelievable and that makes fishing here all that much better.

The Bow Rivers starts in the Eastern Rocky Mountains and as it travels down it runs through Calgary and onward. It is easy to think of the Bow as two rivers. The first, is the Upper Bow which offers access to pristine fishing areas, deep lakes, and plenty of fish. Here, you can float (portions) or walk and wade. There is plenty of fish here so either method of fishing is wonderful.

There is also a long list of Rivers in the area that you can access with your guide. Those include:

- The Bow River - Upper and Lower
- Oldman River
- Crowsnest River
- Castle River
- Racehorse Creek
- Dutch Creek
- Livingston River
- Highwood River
- North and South Ram River

In these many rivers, you can target big Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Bull Trout, Cutthroat Trout, and Brook Trout.

July and August are the two best months to fish the area around Calgary. The season runs May through October and the fish are most active after late June and early July run off. Another good time to fish here is in September as the inflow of fishermen fades and the fish settle down. This is a prime time to enjoy the landscape while you target big fish.

What to Expect

Expect professional guides who are always professional. Expect access to quality gear, good boats, and a deep and constantly renewed knowledge of all of the local waters and the fishing here. Much of the waters here are catch and release and that means you should also expect the opportunity to hook into some big trout.
