The White Pine Lodge is a semi-remote lodge with access via boat. It sits along the Montreal River within the Lady Evelyn Lake System and offers guests an unspoiled wilderness fishing adventure.
Guests stay in one of the six cottages, which are really more like small homes. They offer 1-4 bedroom floor plans with housekeeping services. Expect plenty of space between cabins and a pet-friendly atmosphere.
Fishing with White Pine Lodge
The fishing around the lodge is good. People enjoy catching Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Perch, and Whitefish right from shore or via drifting. The local area has plenty of lakes that offer outstanding Lake Trout and Speckled Trout fishing too.
The lodge offers over 32 miles of fishing on the Montreal River and Lady Evelyn Lake offers over 35-miles of water for fishing. There are a number of portage lakes available with boats on them for guest use. Make sure to bring your fishing license with you and know the limits and species of fish available.
If you love to fish for trophies, then you will not be disappointed. The Montreal River is well known for its fishing. The biggest fish available are the Northern Pike. If you nave not fished for them before then, you should give it a try. These are long, lean fish with an amazing fight. They grow to the 40-pound range, and it is not uncommon to find a 10 plus pound fish in the local area. These are predatory fish that gulp prey. They have over 700 teeth and make short work of monofilament line. For that reason, stock a few steel leaders in your tackle box. You find Northern Pike mostly in the shallow weedy beds where they lurk waiting for smaller fish. Find a quiet bay and skim the boat near a weed patch. You can tempt them to strike with a smelt lure or try a spoon or spinner bait over the edge of the weeds.
Overall, expect to have an awesome time fishing. The lodge is beautiful, well cared for and a place you will return to time and again.
