The Windsock Lodge sits in Eastern Manitoba on the shores of Long Lake and in the Nopiming Provincial Park. From Winnipeg, the lodge is just a four-hour drive. What draws people to this lodge is the outstanding fishing for Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, and Perch. In addition to fishing, this is also a hunting lodge and a division of the Hastings Bros Outfitters. This is a fairly small lodge with just three cabins and a main lodge. The set up makes it perfect for families and small groups and for those fishermen who do not want to deal with overly competitive fishing situations. Here you get wide open spaces and plenty of lake to accommodate everyone's fishing.
Fishing with the Windsock Lodge
June is great for Northern Pike and then again later in the summer. For Walleye, July and August are prime months for fishing. For Smallmouth Bass, July, August and September work the best. In fact, the Northern Pike, Walleye, and Smallmouth Bass kind of go into a feeding frenzy by September as they try to pack on as much weight as possible before the ice comes back.
