The Winefred Lake Lodge sits some 425 kilometers Northeast of Edmonton and along the shores of Winefred Lake in the heart of Alberta's boreal forest. This is an outstanding lake for trophy fishing with trophy Northern Pike, and Big, Fat Walleye.

Fishing with the Winefred Lake Lodge

Winefred Lake has a long history of consistently producing big Walleye and Trophy Northern Pike. The lake is fed by three rivers which pump fresh food and nutrients into the lake and create an ideal nursery for small fish. It is the inflow of fresh water that creates this unique fishing habitat. The small fish feed the big fish which then please the fishermen by deeply bending rods.

Guests fish from 16 foot Lund boats that are powered by 20 HP motors. Spring is an awesome time to fish the local rivers for Walleye and as the lake ice breaks and melts, the Walleye Spawn. Following the Spawn, Walleye are starving and the action here is intense. As summer sets in, the Walleye have full run of the lake. The big Walleye head for the shallows and vie with the Big Northern Pike for lurking locations. You can fish for Trophy Walleye and Northern Pike along the shores in the weedy patches. The large adults and juveniles often swim in schools and are best targeted by Trolling.

Lodging with Winefred Lake Lodge

The lodge is large and beautiful and the staff is focused on providing exceptional service. Guests can opt for light housekeeping cabins or suites. The maximum occupancy for the lodge is 40 guests. Each cabin can hold six guests and are fully furnished. There are seven one bedroom suites and a single two bedroom suite that each offer light housekeeping.

Expect comfortable, clean, and well-maintained accommodations in a beautiful setting.
