Wolf Bay Lodge sits along the shores of Phelps Lake in northern Saskatchewan. Guests can choose between self-service and full-service accommodations. You can access the lodge via air and float plane by flying into Saskatoon then to Points North Landing, and then a float plane to the lodge or outpost.

Fishing with Wolf Bay Lodge

Most people come to Phelps Lake to fish for Trophy Northern Pike and Trophy Lunkers and with good reason, there are plenty of Trophy fish here. Expect to find Trophy Northern Pike in the 48 plus inch range with the record being 52.5 inches. For Lake Trout, there are plenty of big one in the 20-30 pound range, but the Trophy Lake Trout tip the scale around the 40-pound range. You will find plenty of common Lake Trout in the 5-15 pound range too. The current record for Lake Trout is 47 pounds. This is a Catch and Release Lake and Lodge and as such you are reaping the benefits of a massive Trophy population of game fish. Beyond the big Northern Pike and Lake Trout are many other species of fish and bait fish. The most intriguing fish in the lake has only been caught four times and has even the experts confused about what it might be. It is leopard spotted, looks like a Char, and acts like a big Trout. It is affectionately referred to as "the mystery fish" because even with DNA samples its identity is unknown. That little factoid makes this a must-do lodge because who does not want the opportunity to catch and release what might be a game changer.
